PokerPlayer and Bet365 have announced the launch of the 2009 UK Online Student Poker Championships (UKOSPC).

Starting from November, PokerPlayer magazine will be running a freeroll every month on Bet365 Poker and each participating poker society will be invited to enter five players per freeroll. The final positions of the team members in each freeroll will determine the points that will be awarded.

The four top ranking societies who have accumulated the most points after four freerolls will then be invited to the Grand Final, all expenses paid, at a venue yet to be determined. The Grand Final will consist of two semi-finals in which the five team members will play one heads-up match each and then a final, played in the same way.

Prizes

A prize pool of $1500 for each of the 4 freerolls split amongst all the players at the final table.

Travel and accommodation expenses for the 20 playing finalists at the Grand Final at a venue to be agreed (depending on Geography of finalists).

$5000 split between the final 4 teams ($2500, $1250, $750, $500)

Individual trophies for all 4 teams (Winners, Runners-Up, Semi-finalists)

One poker table for each of the four final teams and individual chipsets for all of the individual finalists.
